Meet the Cities Leading the Transformation to Digital Curbs

March 25, 2026

Following the success of our inaugural class, the Open Mobility Foundation (OMF) is thrilled to announce the new members of the 2026 Smart Curb Collaborative. This new class brings together a diverse group of cities and public agencies from around the world who are dedicated to transforming curb management.

This next cohort includes fourteen cities and one county: it’s a larger and more diverse class than the first, including cities from Europe and Canada:

Alexandria Arlington County Boston Bergen Dublin
Minneapolis Montréal Omaha Pasadena Portland
San Francisco San Jose, CA Seattle Tacoma Washington, DC

Building on Proven Success

Our first cohort of ten cities laid the groundwork by piloting the Curb Data Specification (CDS). Their real-world testing directly informed the release of CDS 1.1, introducing vital features like real-time event tracking and digital curb inventory models.

This next cohort of fifteen members will feature:

⚙️ Continued development of the Curb Data Specification (CDS);

🚀 Support for the implementation and expanded adoption of CDS;

📚 Webinars and workshops on key curb digitization topics; and

💬 Peer learning and exchange.

The OMF is thrilled to bring the 2026 Collaborative to Montréal in June for an in-person convening. We’ll share more updates on the Collaborative, CDS, and more on our blog and through our events.

If you’re interested in participating in the next class of the Collaborative, fill out our 2027 interest form here.
