Now a mature data standard, hear success stories from cities that have been using MDS to communicate their curb and mobility policies to create safer and more accessible public spaces. Workshop – Future Forward: Data, Multimodal Transit Integration & Payments

In anticipation of the LA28 Olympic Games, LA Metro is leading several transportation projects, including integrated event ticketing, mobility wallets, exploring open loop payments and other digital infrastructure solutions to support the county’s mobility needs. One of those needs is to ensure that individuals across different programs can access the services they need, particularly unbanked and underbanked transit-dependent transit riders. Asking low-income residents to register for multiple social services programs (like EBT and discounted transit) in a fragmented process is akin to a poor tax. Join this interactive workshop to delve into the dynamics of sharing data for seamless multimodal trip planning and payments. Together we’ll address key questions around data sharing, explore innovative approaches to account-based integration or interoperability, and uncover strategies to address pain points related to digital identity.

Panel – The Intersection of Curb Management and Open Data

We all know there is a transformative impact of effective curb management in cities. This comes from the intrinsic value of curbsides in cities, and the sharing, or opening, of that curbside data. Open data empowers cities with real-time insights, enabling informed policy decisions both inside and outside of municipal transportation departments, but this also requires connected technologies, capable technologies, sound data management principles, and data governance. In this presentation, we will explore these elements through the lens of Passport’s journey from point solution to platform technology. Then, we’ll open the discussion led by a panel of how technology partner integration is key to their success as seen with Cleverciti and Passport in Bend.
